In 2007 Rich began working with fiberglass on a Mustang and quickly found out that what was available on the market had to be completely reworked or could not be used at all. The nose had to be cut into three pieces, the flares into four or five. The list goes on. This cost him countless hours and a whole lot of stress. Since he had to go to all of the trouble to make these parts fit his mustang, he decided to have molds made so his next car build would have good fitting parts. Presently Mustangs To Fear (MTF) is the leader in the mustang fiberglass industry. MTF proved that if you care about what you do and the parts you make, you can build a quality part that has a better fit with less installation time.
All of our parts are made off of original Ford sheet metal on a mustang that has not been damaged or had sheet metal replaced. Since these mustangs are over a half century old it can be rare to find one without prior work done or aftermarket sheet metal replacement. This can make your car build a bit more challenging. To combat this Rich had added some extra features to help with the installation. We can’t control what has happened to your car in the past or the work that has been done to it, but we can add a few features to make the fiberglass fit easier.
At MTF you can design your own mustang body kit. A kit includes a front bumper/nose (your choice of S.R or the MTF Custom) with head light buckets and trim rings, hood, front and rear fender flares, rockers, upper and lower scoops, rear bumper, quarter extensions, tail light panel and new rear spoiler for your existing deck lid. All with professionally made fiberglass parts that are uniform and consistent. No humps or bumps here!
We offer two options for flares and rockers. Our original rockers don't have to run exhaust through the torque box. For those who still like the higher look, we offer that too. Our front flares can be used with either of our front noses. Simply trim it to fit or use the whole flare to go with our S.R. Nose.
Our front noses are an easy bolt on one piece - no wasting time and money trying to get the upper and lower pieces to fit together. We did all the work for you! It comes with the headlight buckets and stainless steel trim rings to give it a complete look. By making it this way you can change the headlamps and adjust them without having to take the entire nose off as with competitor's noses. There are also grills available that fit great with no unsightly gaps. All the light openings are trimmed out for you and our noses feature a return lip so you can adjust it when fitting it onto your car. We also furnish the metal needed for fenders when you cut them off, noting that the S.R. Nose does not need the fenders cut off. NOTE: Our noses are made with buckets that support 5 3/4" headlights and are one piece, different than the traditional front mustang noses.
We have five hood options for you. The MTF Custom High Rise Hood is made with 1 1/2" extra rise to accommodate big blocks and superchargers. The MTF Custom Low Rise Hood is a slightly lower profile. If you want a little different look you can even use our 1968 style or S-Style with or without louvers. Our hoods fit, lining up with the cowl and do not hump up on the sides like so many others. It follows the correct curvature of the fender. Lastly, the hood pins are placed in front of the bump stop, where it should be and there is a notch out for a monte carlo bar. Some of our hoods can be used with latches and some are just hood pins.
You can choose from two different types of upper and lower scoops. The MTF Custom Lower Scoops have been shaved so 1/2" of body filler isn’t required to be added to your doors in order to make them fit correctly. Ours are also flexible to fit the contour of the body as opposed to being over rigid. All of our scoops have studs on the back.
Lastly, the rear bumper, taillight panel (with or without gas opening), quarter extensions and rear spoiler or deck lid all line up to work together beautifully. Plus with our kit you won't have to cut out your existing taillight panel, unlike every other kit on the market. Cutting the panel weakens the rear end of the car. Please specify with or without gas opening and '67 or '68 on the taillight panel.
All of our products have been tested on numerous Mustangs, both factory original and aftermarket parts, and fit fine. As is with any body work there will always be some tweaking to do in order to fit your exclusive Mustang, but no fiberglass work! We do not recommend mixing and matching with other fiberglass companies since most of our parts were made to work together.
